As is well known, press brakes can be equipped with different tooling to bend various products. To enhance the machine’s efficiency more effectively, it is crucial to optimize tooling performance without compromising product quality.
1. Improper tool installation directly affects bending accuracy, resulting in defective parts during the bending process.
2. Because tool installation is too cumbersome, and continuous debugging also affects production efficiency.
In summary, the bending machine clamp template has emerged as a result.
What is a press brake fixture template? In fact, this product is no stranger to today’s press brake equipment; it is an essential component for mounting press brake tools. It enables efficient and rapid adjustment of various press brake tools, thereby enhancing operational efficiency. Typically, a standard press brake is equipped with more than ten such fixture templates.
Safety in production is becoming increasingly important. So, how should bending machine fixture templates be used correctly?
1. When replacing the bending machine tooling, the upper and lower dies of the bending machine must be separated.
2. At this time, it is imperative to ensure that the press brake is stopped and de-energized to prevent safety accidents.
3. Rotate the handle on the bending machine fixture template; this operation must be performed by two people, ensuring that the two bending machine fixture templates at both ends remain closed.
4. Before opening several press brake clamping templates, ensure the tool remains securely held to prevent the rotating handle of the clamping template from coming loose and causing an accident.
5. Move the replaced tool to the upper die, then quickly close the rotary handle of the press brake’s clamping template to secure the tool.
6. Then turn on the press brake power and bend the product!

Maintenance Tips for Press Brake Fixtures
Although press brake tooling is a wear part, proper usage and regular maintenance can significantly extend the tool’s service life.
Precautions and maintenance methods for using press brake fixtures:
1. Before powering on, thoroughly clean iron chips from the lower die cavity of the press brake. Prior to bending, always perform a test: when the upper punch of the press brake descends to the bottom of the V-shaped groove in the lower die, there must be a clearance in the thickness dimension. During bending, the downward pressure applied by the press brake’s clamping mechanism must not exceed the yield strength of the die; otherwise, the die may deform or even crack.
2. The notch dimensions of the lower die must be appropriate for bending. The calculation formula for the relationship between the width of the V-groove in the CNC press brake’s lower die and the plate thickness is: V-groove width = plate thickness × 8. However, the ratio of the lower-die groove width to the thickness of the bending tool varies depending on the material being processed. Based on practical experience, for precision bending, the lower-die notch width V can be reduced to 4 times the plate thickness when the plate thickness t is between 3 and 10 mm; for plates with t = 3–10 mm, the lower-die notch width V = plate thickness × 8. For plates with t = 10 mm or greater, the lower-die notch width V = plate thickness × 12. The above formulas apply to precision bending. If the material being processed is aluminum, the lower-die notch width should be reduced; if the material is stainless steel, the lower-die notch width should be increased. The above data are provided for reference only.
3.1 After the end of the workday, the press brake fixtures shall be thoroughly cleaned. Any fixtures not used the following day shall be promptly wiped clean, lubricated, and stored in the fixture storage box.
